Currencies and conversion rates

VOYD delivers a service that lets creators from 30+ countries sell their video or audio content to customers worldwide. When you sign up as a creator on VOYD.tv you have to fill out your country of residence. The country dictates the default currency you will set your prices in and the default currency your customers see. At the moment, these default currencies are available:

  • Euro (EUR)
  • Swedish Kronor (SEK)
  • Norwegian Kroner (NOK)

You can change this currency in Creator Admin, for instance if you are a Swedish creator but want to set your default prices in EUR.

It is also possible for your customers to change the currency they want to pay in (SEK, NOK or EUR) in the checkout. If the customer changes currency, VOYD.tv uses the current currency exchange rate at that point in time (updated every hour). A customer who wants to purchase content on VOYD.tv also has to create an account and upon doing so the customer selects their country of residence. This is mandatory so that VOYD can show and store the correct Value-added Tax (VAT) for each purchase.
